History
Built in 1993, the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim (“The Pond”) was created after the huge success of the Disney Film “Mighty Ducks.” An unusual city to have a hockey team, the Mighty Ducks engrossed almost 700,000 fans in their first season, with 27 sell-outs.

But that high level of success was not sustained, and the team was sold by Disney; Henry Samueli changed the name of the team to the Anaheim Duck and secured naming rights for the arena, now known as Honda Center.

Ducks games are not the only events that take place in Honda Center. The NLL’s Anaheim Storm, as well as annual events including Disney on Ice, music concerts, the Harlem Globetrotters, and Barnum & Bailey Circus also share time at Honda Center.

The reason for the astonishing success is the $120 million, state-of-the-art facility that is provided. The outside of “The Pond” is constructed from granite that extends around the entire building, while the interior has more than 200,000 square feet of marble that is used to embellish the three levels.

Surrounded by five major freeways, Arrowhead Pond provides fans with easy access throughout Southern California. From cloth-padded seats to luxury suites, the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim provides its fans with a comfortable and accommodating environment.
