History
From 1993 to 2002, the San Antonio Spurs played at the Alamodome, which was built primarily as a football stadium. Although the facility was still relatively new, the Spurs and their fans were unhappy with the open, cavernous feel of the arena.

Completed in 2002, the AT&T Center is now home to the Spurs (NBA), the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage, and the WNBA’s San Antonio Silver Stars. The Spurs won their second NBA Championship during their inaugural season at the arena, defeating the New Jersey Nets in six games.

Kansas City based Ellerbe Beckett were chosen as the primary architects for the building because of their work on the renowned Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
